LATEST ACTIVITIES GROUP NEWS TABLE TENNIS To facilitate the forthcoming Table Tennis
evenings we have purchased one new table plus new nets and bats for the two
old ones. Total cost is around £200. This equipment will also be available
for use during our school holiday activities afternoons.
BRIDGE COURSE BAG has been very fortunate to obtain the
services of a Bridge Professional to run a ten week course for absolute
beginners. Mike Virgo has 40 years of experience and also runs courses for
Norfolk County Council. The course is running from 8th October until 10th
December on a Wednesday evening. As Bawdeswell Village Hall is used every
other Wednesday evening we have had to use an alternative venue at Sparham
Old Schoolroom. We have managed to keep the cost of the course down to £40
compared with £84 (£42 concession) charged by Norfolk County Council for a
similar course. The course is now full. CRICKET NETS BAG completed the
erection of one bay of cricket nets on Saturday 28th June with funding from
various sources. BAG gratefully acknowledges grants from Norfolk Community
Foundation and Breckland Council, a donation from Bawdeswell Parish Council
and very generous donations from residents. Thanks also to all who attended
and/or assisted with our fund raising quizes. Total cost was around £700.

generosity of a resident who donated £400, we have been able to purchase all
the materials for a second bay of the cricket nets and, when weather permits,
we will erect them. Our donor said that he was so pleased to see facilities
being provided and well used. |
